Undo The Cowl

Take my garment

Swirled at my waist,

Undo the cowl

And embrace me,

Invulnerable but

Still

Available,

Only

Through the mind.

Not Alone

In the shadow of some greatness,
I discovered my smallness...
Only to see,
A crowd!

Grace In Mind

The choice to live my life with grace in mind is one day at a time. One thought, one breath, one lifetime in each sparkling moment. Today, I do not choose willfulness. But, purpose with submission to something bigger. I'll call myself, flawed but gifted with something. So, I'll call myself, blessed!

Life’s Little Mysteries

God sends us flowers,
And then, it rains...

He brightens the sky,
The fields and plains...

A little touch,
A whisper...

Sweet,
So, sweet!

Never leaves,
A tender heart...

Forgotten,
Feeling incomplete!

Try to remember,
That certain smile...

That 'tendered' a glow,
Remembered, with pride...

So much to show...
As we reminisce,

A longing for Comfort,
N' for Bliss...

God sends us flowers,
'Because' it rains...

He brightens the sky,
Your fields, Our plains!

Baby whispers things,
That are so sweet!

To bring certain smiles,
From prancing feet!

So, when times,
Seem so sad...

As they
Sometimes are...

Reflect on
Small things...

And smile,
At God's Heart...

Growing His Love,
In Heaven's stars!

Wonderfully Patient,
Is His Loving regard!

God Bless!

White Ball Black Night

White Ball, Black Night

Moon is emerging,

It’s face is opening up,

Silky clouds spread

Wings, reveal powder,

Dust, then smile.

Moon speaks to the night,

Turning a day that floats

Like a bubble atop

Firmament below,

Dust me your smile.

You hide your face,

Again, and stretch

Your line below to

Pull me up, atop the

Night into day.

All hail, dear moon!

Oh pearl of the night,

To gain your mystery

I must float atop,

Wings open, beaming.

Round ribs breathe,

Deeply and my heart

Pumps its stream,

Into rivers of my

Thought, Universe.

I see you looking

At me with your eye,

I look at you, my eye,

Open then closed,

We wink knowledge.

The other connecting

Bands of light bright,

Peeking into me, you,

I see you going so far,

Take me with you.

Moon you are gone,

Your bow glowing

Round your misty

Spray, with fingers

Stretching, etching.

You are gone

Gone, but smile

And will return,

Like the promise

Of a tomorrow.

Sliver your pride,

Oh, moon silver

And bright...

Good Night,

Good Morning!

My world awakens,

And my grateful

Heart smiles,

At the thought,

You are there for me!

Oh ball of beauty,

White flash of light,

Sky bound trailing,

Stars pulling wagons,

Of thought about you.

Tiptoe gently,

Oh, Soulful one,

My Heart is near,

And only you, my light,

Can console me!

Gently as daybreak’s

Silent morn,

Strikes again,

Awake to the

Message, dear!

Awake!

Simply Caught

May your showers come from up above,
With gentle thoughts sprung from love.
May golden hearts come your way,
Adding goodness, to a brand new day!

It's Just A Bird

I wonder, to understand fabric...the kind that attaches itself to the skin and won't slough off at the end of the day. That peels off layers of thought, tucked neatly into crevices, deep in furrows of sorrow caught at the corner of your mind...

Fabric, not silk or cotton, but a single line fashioned into a cloudy remnant. A sheet of mist turned into memory with no beginning and no end, wrapped around the tail of a dog, wagging...that you caught just then with a simple thought emerging...

I wonder why that bird stood alone in the puddle, in the crosswalk of the street. I almost hit it, but...no matter, it's just a bird!

Awakened

A thick deep breath,
Reminds me, I’m alive

Liquid sawdust floats,
Sailing, through the sky

Gentle buds and rose tips,
Greet my searching eye

A memory of stolen kisses,
clouds that drift and slide.

I hear the leaves are rustling,
So, I smell the mist at play

Glories of a sunset gone,
I’ll just stare at life today!

Comes a fleeting moment
When my mind is open shut

Thoughts of sultry summers?
Like a cup of words, I’ve struck!

Always

Always

Around every pitiful silence is a deep sadness.
A sleeping giant, whose thoughts have no words,
Whose words, no expression.
A vault with no key…
But, there is always
Hope!

The Angel

The Angel
Was here again...
He pitter-pattered
Across my mind.
He curled up
On my bed,
Again,
Left his
Angel-stickers,
Behind.
They stuck
To my heart
And danced...
A duet so
Kind!
The Angel
Was here again,
There are so
Many signs!
He whispered
Sweet
Mutterings,
Laughter...
As we
Dined.
He tossed his
Curls and
Fluttered
Those eyes...
Again,
He is
So fine.
The Angel
Was here again,
I'm so glad
That he is
Mine!
That little
Tricky-trickster,
For whom
My heart
Does
Pine!

Nighten up!

Under cover

Of night,

The leaves

Shudder

And the

Limbs

Embrace

Shadows

Under cover

Of night,

The trees

Breathe

Air drifts

A flight,

So rich

Moist

Under cover

Of night,

Clouds curl

Around

Exhalations

From

Deep

Pores

Dogs bark

Trees bark

My bark

Exalts

Reality

That

Shivers

Life

Night light

Whispers

Softly

Crooning

Moon

Bows

From

Sun glow

Under cover

Of night,

Tiny

Footprints

Pierce the

Soil and

Glass

Sand

Birds

Huddle

Asleep

And

Dream

Their

Fantastic

Dreams

Under cover

Of night,

I stare at

My person

I was

Tomorrow

Will

Become

Under cover

Of night!

Seedlings

Pop,

Twigs snap,

Reminders

Of feet

Still

Under cover

Of night,

I am

A lonely

Queen

Who

Mists

A dream.

Remembering

Who

What

Where

When

That

Was

The very

Night

Of the

Moon,

Shivering

Moist

Colored

Darkness

Kissed

By the

Sandman,

Drawn by

The oceans,

Deeply

Solemnly

Asleep

So Long Ago

so long ago...

i barely remember,

it was September

so long ago...

so long ago...

the trees smell,

woodsy and wet

so long ago...

so long ago...

i lay dying,

woodsy and wet

so long ago...

clouds lift up...

see the sun,

crying out

remember me...

so long ago...

i'd forgotten,

to live

as I lay dying...

do you...

remember me?

see the sun

and live...

oh, beautiful one...

brilliant eyes,

see the sun

and live...

so long ago...

Away

i hear reflective bird

a calling,

around yonder bush

reflective bird

a calling,

the muse will not hush

the thought of solemn

warbles,

echoes make me flush

i hear reflective bird

a calling,

around yonder bush

reflective bird

still calling,

his song does not push!

the thought of solemn

warbles,

echoings that touch

the toad still croaks,

at warbles,

'round yonder bush

reflective bird

a calling,

warbles understood

bird and toad

a calling

so please shush, shush,

reflective bird

a calling

wings on hand, brush

tiny toad croaks with

flutters,

reflective heart, mush

singing flutters,

stutters,

reflect, a bird crush!

closing my shutters,

stutters,

mutters at the bush,

wings away to tree,

croaks,

oh, heart, hush, hushhh!

reflective bird

a calling,

'membering the touch...

reflective bird

recalling,

from the Holly Bush!

The Search

A bouquet wasn't enough,

So I twirled a ribbon and pulled

Reluctant

Tendrils with a knife.

A penny wasn't enough,

So I emptied the piggy,

Thoughtfully,

Squealing my anticipation.

A branch wasn't enough,

So I smashed the olives

Drooping,

Then tossed a salad.

What, would be enough?

I placed the flowers on the table,

Giggled coined pockets,

Left a bottle...

Enough?

Sorry, came to mind...

But was it enough?

Willfulness gone...

I'm sorry, said the note...

I stole away...

Enough?

...Were the flowers

Beckoning,

Enough?

From the garden,

That had roots...

Enough?

"Sorry!"

Deep

Enough

The Long Stretch

my eye...
it,
rests on the foot
resting on couch
weighted on rug
spread across floor
piled planks
supported pilings
joined rafters
cindered block
stacked
slabs
rooted
under trees
cavernous
boulders
cobbles
pebbles

alone, standing alone

finally,
mind
to
dirt,
earth...

always,
the
final
stretch
Is
home!

Sara's Cascade

If the mountain

Be pain...

Choose the river

Rushing to

The waterfall,

Alive,

As the rock

Cascades

If the sky

Be rain...

Choose the daisy

Perky yet

Asleep, Inning

In the garden,

As the bouquet,

Cascades

If the forest

Maimed...

Choose the deer

With perking ears

Still by

The pond,

As the grace,

Cascades

Draw near heart

When you ache

At the feet of

Frog who croaks,

Flower who speaks,

Sun who warms,

With cascading stillnesses,

While the pond is cool.

Heart, live for something!

Cascades of joy

Cascades of light

Cascades of love

Memory

Myth

Miracle

Life!

"Choose

Something

To live for!"

One drop

Of reason,

And,

Hope

Cascades!

Flutterings

Like a delicate butterfly attends to its life,

We sail to, then past each other,

In fleeting moments of thought!

KMSchlarb

Petals

places

i fear,

are

hidden

within,

growth

to

flow...

from

horrors...

where

a

small

delicate

flower...

with

tiny

petals

bruised,

resides...

as he said,

one

day,

many

petals

ago...

Gray

oh, joyful grayness!

i fall into your arms as

my body rests

comfortably

in my chair...

i do not chew your

grimness as

forecast,

nor swallow

with delight

your bleakness,

that cushions

only into stillness...

i pound out

a reality that

skitters between

the black and

the white

troughs...

i bland,

then blend...

i eat humility,

as I regurgitate

mind

flow that

sojourns into

blood red

heart...

red splattered

droplets

like rubies...

that freckle

gray into beauty,

turned

into comfort

in message,

as soul

into heart.

Gray...

by any measure

you are me,

a

mysterious,

compliant,

defiant...

void

of color,

no apology

just there...

Gray...

a hedge

against

remorse,

speaks...

bluntly

crinkled,

never

submitting...

but, to its own

right to be!

what it is,

that is...

Gray!
